2006 Projects
Venice Arts: In Neighborhoods’ “House is Small, But the Welcome is Big” project received a $42,000 grant. The “House is Small, But the Welcome is Big” is a visual documentary portraying the impact of HIV/AIDS and poverty on African women and children. The grant assists in the distribution of the South African images and stories, raising awareness about the continuing global AIDS crisis and to develop new projects within Africa.

COWAN Project (Country Women’s Association of Nigeria) – a project borne out of the University of Southern California’s Marshall School of Business in partnership with the African Millennium Foundation – received a $41,000 grant. COWAN provides a means for its members to increase palm oil production by focusing on project and financial management skills to strengthen individual resources through collective efforts in a business enterprise.

Menopause The Musical Out Loud™ Tour to benefit ovarian cancer launched in 2005-06, the tour visited 51 cities across the United States to increase awareness of the medical, social and emotional issues faced by the millions of women battling ovarian cancer. The tour raised nearly $500,000 to benefit national and local ovarian cancer chapters’ research and education. A second tour is scheduled to launch in late 2008.

2005 Projects
• Menopause The Musical Out Loud®: Breaking the Silence of Ovarian Cancer Tour raised more than a half-a-million dollars for ovarian cancer.

The tour was launch in fall 2005.  The 51-city tour traveled across the United States raising money for ovarian cancer research and education, and increasing awareness of menopause and menopause-related issues.

• Aging Out Loud™ Town Hall Meeting, this sponsored event held in September 2005 in Washington, DC, centered on health issues of our nation's women and was attended by key officials and dignitaries from the DC area.
